Park Hours

City park recreational and picnic facilities will be closed to the public from 12:00 midnight to 5:00 a.m. daily, except for special events as approved by the City Council.  The Splash Pad hours are 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. daily.    Click here to reserve a park shelter

Park Rules

Alcoholic & Cereal Malt Beverages: It shall be unlawful to use, consume or have on the premises of any park any alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage without a permit obtained from the city clerk’s office and adheres to all rules and regulations concerning alcohol.

Camping Prohibited: Overnight camping is prohibited in city parks except where posted.

Fires: All fires are to be contained in the ovens, stoves, or grills provided for that purpose by the city, and must be extinguished immediately after use thereof.

Fireworks in the Park: The discharging of fireworks in the city park areas will be in compliance with the existing city laws and in designated areas only.

Hunting: Hunting is prohibited at any time while in any city park.

Parking: Parking may only be in the areas designated.

Preservation of Natural State: It is unlawful for any person, except duly authorized city employees, to take, injure, or disturb any live or dead tree, plant, shrub, or flower, or otherwise interfere with the natural state of city parks.

Sanitation: All waste material, paper, trash rubbish, tin cans, bottles, containers, garbage and refuse of any kind whatsoever shall be deposited in disposal containers provided for such purposes.

Speed Limit: Vehicles in any park area may not exceed a speed limit in excess of 20 m.p.h.

Swimming, Bathing, Wading, Skating or Use of a Vessel: Swimming, bathing, wading, skating, or the use of vessels in the City’s pond is prohibited except in designated areas, with city approval.

Vehicle Regulations: Operating a motorized vehicle within any City park except on roads, drives and parking areas is strictly prohibited. All licensed motorized vehicles are to be operated in a safe and prudent manner at all times.

Weapons: It is unlawful for any person to carry or have in their possession any firearm or dangerous weapon or to shoot or discharge within the limits of any city park.
